Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan

is a city that many people travel to with our company, and most of those people come to us and ask where to eat! There aren't a lot of restaurants and bars within the city of Grosse Pointe Shores itself, so hanging out around the area you will want to check out nearby Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Woods, Detroit, and St Clair Shores. Though that seems like a lot of cities, you'll find that all of the restaurants and bars on the list below are within an easy five-mile driving distance of the center of Grosse Pointe Shores. You'll find all of these in the nearby zip codes of 48236, 48224, 48080, and 48236. We hope you'll enjoy them as much as we do!

♦ Grosse Pointe Yacht Club ♦
Despite the prominent location on the water, Grosse Pointe Yacht Club remains one of the best kept secrets in Grosse Pointe Shores. There's always something to do here, from bowling to tennis to just enjoying an excellent meal. There are actually three separate restaurants on the premises, so you definitely have plenty of options to suit your ever-changing moods and tastes. The atmosphere here is really added to by the stone fireplace, which is the perfect place to warm up when the weather gets cold. Please note that this is a members only establishment, so if you want to take advantage of all those incredible perks, you will have to obtain a membership. You may want to make a couple of preview visits with a friend who is a member first. You'll be able to find Grosse Pointe Yacht Club right here in Grosse Point Shores at 788 Lake Shore Rd. Very highly recommended!

♦ TN Thai Bistro ♦
TN Thai Bistro is definitely one of our favorite spots to dine in the nearby Grosse Pointe area. The regulars here can't get enough of the spicy volcano sushi roll, and we order that nearly every time that we come in. The Michigan roll is also wonderful, packed with delicious tuna and yellowtail which is the perfect combination. The green curry is nothing short of top notch, and just as with every other item on their menu, you can order it as spicy (or as mild!) as your taste buds dictate! We think you'll be delightfully surprised at the low prices here — you can fill up on an amazing array of both sushi and Thai food at a much lower price than you will find anywhere in this area. We enjoy the laid back ambiance and the low key atmosphere, and the easy-to-find location is another perk. Head on down to try them at 17100 Kercheval Ave in Grosse Pointe. Highly recommended!

♦ Original Pancake House ♦
The OG Pancake House is located in nearby Grosse Pointe Woods, and we feel this entry is by far the most essential restaurants on this list. For breakfast and brunch, it simply can't be beat. They're open from early in the morning (6:30am) to considerably late in the evening for a pancake house (9:00pm), so you can always rely on this spot for a great meal no matter what time of day you arrive. The prices are affordable and the ambiance is casual and comfy. We're big fans of the Garden Dutch Baby, the Big German, and the Big Apple. The only possible downside to this restaurant is that they do not have real maple syrup, so if you're hooked on that you might want to smuggle in a bottle just for yourself. You can meet up with Original Pancake House at 20273 Mack Ave in the neighboring town of Grosse Pointe Woods.

♦ Cadieux Cafe ♦
Cadieux Cafe is our favorite little Belgian pub in nearby Detroit, within easy driving distance from the center of Grosse Pointe Shores, and you simply can't afford to pass this one up. Particularly on a Friday or Saturday night, when there's live music and a bustling crowd, you just won't believe the great old fashioned vibe here. There are TVs so you can catch the big game, and you'll love their happy hour specials too. The beer selection is quite impressive, especially if you love your Belgians, and everybody really enjoys the feather bowling here. If you're not familiar with that, it's about time that you get in there and learn! Cork dart boards too, which we love. You can find Cadieux Cafe at 4300 Cadieux Rd in nearby Detroit.

♦ Fishbones Rhythm Kitchen Cafe ♦
Fishbones Rhythm Kitchen Cafe is an essential stop on our list for as long as we have been doing them, and though we're biggest fans of the downtown Detroit location, this location in nearby St Clair Shores is so close by and just as good. If you love your Cajun and Creole tastes, and you just want to relax in a restaurant/bar where the food is as good as the drinks, and the service is as good as the ambiance, then Fishbones is what you're looking for. We highly recommend the outdoor patio if you're reading this in the summertime, and if it's too cold outside for that, stay in and enjoy the live music. Most highly recommended? Definitely the gumbo and jambalaya, as well as the crawfish etouffe. You can find this Fishbones location at 23722 Jefferson Ave which is in St Clair Shores.

♦ Cedar Garden ♦

Cedar Garden is without a doubt the best and most popular Mediterranean restaurant in this area, found in nearby St Clair Shores, and very highly recommended by us. The crushed lentil soup is an absolute top choice here, and it makes a perfect starter for any meal. If you love chicken shwarma like we do then we know you will enjoy theirs, and you'll love it even more if you enjoy some hommous and garlic sauce on the side. Great service here from the owner on down and they really know their way around the menu, so you don't have to worry if you don't. The kibbeh is fantastic, and we also love their famous deboned chicken. You'll be able to find Cedar Garden at 23417 Greater Mack Ave in nearby St Clair Shores.

♦ Rojo Mexican Bistro ♦
Rojo Mexican Bistro is highly recommended if you're seeking a great Mexican dining experience in the St Clair Shores area. This is one of the more upscale restaurants on this list, a bit pricier, and with a very classy and trendy feel that we really enjoy. Their happy hour specials are a great way to save some money and enjoy some of their drinks. The fresh guacamole made tableside is fantastic, and all of the entrees are very tasty and delicious. You won't expect this place to be too authentic because it's more of a hipster American version of a Mexican restaurant, but if you can appreciate it for what it is, you will really enjoy it. The food is great and so is the service. A few of the extra perks here include free wi-fi, a cozy outdoor patio, and even valet parking. You'll be able to find Rojo Mexican Bistro at 24026 Jefferson in nearby St Clair Shores.

♦ Shores Inn Food & Spirits ♦
Shores Inn Food & Spirits has always been one of our favorite bars to stop into whenever we find ourselves in this area. The ambiance here is just superb, a perfect blend of old fashioned and brand new, and we'd say the same of the service too. They've got a really impressive selection of beers (150 of them!), and their menu is full of bar favorites like hamburgers, sandwiches, and chicken, and it's all really delicious. There are plenty of TVs making this a great option when you want to go out to watch a game with some atmosphere, and you'll definitely enjoy the drink specials here as well. Always a great time at Shores Inn Food & Spirits which can be visited at 23410 Greater Mack Ave in nearby St Clair Shores.

♦ Dish♦
Dish has been featured in a lot of newspaper articles and even on TV recently, and we are huge supporters of all their wonderful food as well as the noteworthy service. By far our most selected menu item has got to be the New Orleans Pasta, and even the old fashioned favorites like the Beef Stroganoff are just fantastic. Even down to the basics, like their menu of sandwiches — you won't be disappointed. Lots of yummy Mediterranean flavors to enjoy here too, and the Mediterranean veggie sandwich is no exception! So terrific. Be sure to take a moment to visit Dish at 18441 Mack Ave in the city of Detroit. So close by, and so good!

♦ Burrito Mundo ♦
Burrito Mundo is just a tiny place located in a strip mall in nearby Grosse Pointe, but we do not recommend that you overlook this one! Their ingredients are so fresh and flavorful, and though you might not expect much out of a small place like this, please don't judge this book by its cover. The chicken fajita ensalada is one of our favorite healthy choices here, and their maize burrito with tomatillo chipotle will quickly become your favorite pick. Their burritos are pretty enormous here, so you will definitely get filled up! And yet it's still so healthy. Next time you find yourself craving some outstanding Mexican food head over to Burrito Mundo at 19449 Mack Ave in nearby Grosse Pointe!
