Bedford, Michigan

is a township that is located in Monroe County. Though you won't find any places to eat in Bedford itself, you will find some good bars and restaurants in the surrounding areas of Lambertville, Erie, and Temperance. Here are a few of our favorites in the zip codes of 48144, 48133, and 48182.

♦ Bedford Coney Island ♦
Bedford Coney Island is a cozy little spot tucked away in an unassuming strip mall on Sterns Road, but don't let that easily overlooked exterior fool you! The food that they've got inside those four walls is truly delicious. This is a great place to have breakfast any day of the week, with all the free coffee refills you want, and tons of delicious options ranging from omelets to traditional breakfasts, but our personal favorite has got to be the feta omelette. That's the kind of flavor that really gets your day off to a great start. There's really nothing memorable about the decor here, so the attraction of this place is solely down to the delicious food and the wonderful service. But what's wrong with that? Nothing at all. You can find Bedford Coney Island at 3325 Sterns Rd in nearby Lambertville.

♦ Frog Leg Inn Restaurant ♦
Frog Leg Inn Restaurant has one of our favorite names of all time, for the simple fact that we love frog legs, and we love this fabulous French restaurant! There's a lot more to this restaurant than just delicious frog legs though, for those who aren't so into that. When even an ordinary side salad with house dressing is just out of this world, you know that is a true testament to the expertise of the chefs. The cornish hen is one of our favorite dishes here, though that's a seasonal special, and the frog legs in cream sauce is absolutely divine, served with delicious sweet potato fries. We would also recommend the duck. The Riesling is our favorite wine, by the bottle or by the glass. The rustic ambiance is just as welcoming as the staff themselves, and you'll want to just sink in and stay awhile. There's even a full bar, and the prices are surprisingly affordable for this being an excellent French restaurant! You'll be able to find Frog Leg Inn at 2103 Manhattan St in nearby Erie. Highly recommended.

♦ Maggie's Cafe ♦

The Maggie's Cafe is a charming little diner located in nearby Temperance where you can find all your diner favorites at your favorite diner prices! They've got a sourdough french toast that is one of our particular favorites, and a very good country fried steak if that's more your style! They've got the giant dinner plate sized pancakes that everybody loves to eat for breakfast, plus fabulous hash browns, and wonderful biscuits and gravy. If you're there for lunch you'll definitely enjoy the gyros, which are packed with great flavor and high quality ingredients. The service here can be a little bit hit or miss, sometimes excellent, sometimes slow. But the food is always great. The best part of coming here is the ambiance of not just the restaurant but the entire neighborhood around it. You really feel like you've stepped back in time to simpler days when neighbors all knew each other's names and looked after each other like family. We would highly recommend this restaurant for any meal any day of the week! You can find it at 8970 Lewis Ave in nearby Temperance.

♦ La Fiesta ♦
When you're in the Bedford Township area and you're craving good Mexican food, all you've got to do is head over to nearby Erie to La Fiesta. This restaurant has never let us down when it comes to satisfying all our Mexican food cravings. They've got some of the fastest service in town, the kind where you're seated almost immediately, drink orders are taken, and before you know if you're noshing on the most delicious meal ever and you wonder how it got there so quickly. But everything is freshly prepared and freshly cooked of course. The chips and salsa are absolutely delicious, and we're big fans of their creamy chicken soup. The tamales are absolutely fantastic here, and we also love their burritos, tacos, and enchiladas. They've got a nice beer selection here too, and wonderful margaritas. You will be able to find this sensational little Mexican restaurant at 11191 Telegraph Rd in nearby Erie. Be sure to check it out when you're in town!

♦ Quimby's Food & Spirits ♦
Finally, the choice bar in the list has got to be Quimby's Food & Spirits. It's located in a strip mall so it's very easily overlooked, but don't kid yourself, this is a wonderful place to dine and drink! The food here is much better than your typical bar fare, and they've got a nice selection of beer and liquor too so you can really enjoy yourself without having any limit to your drink choices. On the weekends you'll be able to enjoy live entertainment, and the bands that play here are pretty respectable when it comes to the craft of music. Definitely some good sounds booming from these walls when the weekend rolls around. Since there are a couple of different sections within the bar, if you're not in the mood for live music, you can always hang out on the other end. This bar and grill is typically packed with happy customers no matter what time of day you come in, and that's the mark of a truly good establishment. You'll be able to find Quimby's Food & Spirits at 3536 Sterns Rd in nearby Lambertville. Very highly recommended!
