Good Mexican food is not hard to find in Owosso! It's easily accessible at El Portrero! There really aren't any other options for Mexican food in this area except the fast food restaurants, but this one could hold its own even if there were other choices to be found. It's not the most authentic Mexican food in the world, more of an American Tex-Mex kind of thing, but it is so good! The rice and beans are wonderful, and we love the chips and salsa. The burritos and enchiladas are two of our favorite things here, and the quesadillas are always a very nice choice too, either as an appetizer or as an entree. The tamales are really good too! The service is great and the ambiance is very cozy and comfortable. You will be able to find El Portrero at 1706 W M-21 in Owosso. Definitely worth a quick stop when you're in Bennington!
